Dapoxetine, marketed as Vriligy is a
medication used for the treatment of premature ejaculation in men 18 to 64
years old. Dapoxetine works by inhibiting the serotonin transporter, increasing
serotonin's action at the post synaptic cleft, and as a consequence promoting
ejaculatory delay.
Dapoxetine tablets are short acting
selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) used specifically for the
treatment of premature ejaculation. This medicine should not be taken by men
who are not diagnosed with premature ejaculation. Dapoxetine is used to treat premature ejaculation. It helps in
increasing the time taken to ejaculate and helps in achieving better control
during a physical activity.
It also states that Dapoxetine ingredient
medicine should not be used in men taking phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors
(for example, sildenafil). Dapoxetine should be used with caution in men with
mild or moderate renal impairment, and is not recommended for use in men with
severe renal impairment.
It increases the time it takes to
ejaculate and can improve the control over the ejaculation. It starts to work
very quickly, so it is taken when you anticipate having physical Activity,
rather than every day. You have to take it 1-3 hours before you have Physical
Activity.
Do not take more than one tablet in
any 24 hours. Dapoxetine is not intended for regular daily use - you should
only take it before you anticipate having physical Activity.
